Why is My Boss So Paranoid About Productivity?

On What’s Your Work Fit we posed this question: why is my boss so paranoid about productivity?

This week, workforce solutions expert Kathy Kacher of Career/Life Alliance Services answers this and other questions.

As companies sought some semblance of post-pandemic normality, Kathy shifted her focus to facilitating clients’ return to office (RTO) efforts.

Why is my boss so paranoid about productivity? It’s likely this disconnect: few c-suites believe that their ranks are productive while their workers actually think that they are.

In between these two constituencies are head-count managers who have to lead and inspire their teams while fulfilling the shifting goals of their supervisors. It renders many of them paranoid.

We also discuss how some brands like The Walt Disney Company are built for co-location while others like GitLab are intentionally designed around a 100 percent distributed workforce. Whatever is a company’s workplace strategy, Kathy says that “the WHY” behind it must be clear and intentional.

During this information packed episode, Kathy answers “what’s your work fit?’ Her vision will surely resonate with many career professionals, especially those who’ve taken an entrepreneurial journey.
